Race Regulations

São Silvestre da Amadora is an event organized by Amadora City Hall and Desportivo Operário Rangel (TIN 501325441; Morada: Rua Elias Garcia, 41, Shop 10, 2700-312 Amadora), with tecnichal organization by HMS Sports Consulting Lda.

10K Race

• Date: December 31th, 2018
• Place: Praça São Silvestre (close to Amadora Este subway station)
• Schedule:
  • Start Female Elite: 5:45 pm
  • Start: 6:00 pm

Children's Race

• Date: December 31th, 2018
• Place: Praça São Silvestre (close to Amadora Este subway station)
• Schedule: 4:30 pm

10 K Race

Start on the Salgados Road, (next to the Amadora Este subway station), follow the Salgados Road towards the centre of Amadora, Eduardo Jorge Av., Elias Garcia St., turn right onto Cmdt. Luís António da Silva Av., roundabout of Parque Aventura, follow the Falagueira Road, Serra da Mira Road, at the volcano's roundabout turn left (going backwards), to Francisco Bugalho St., Oliveira Martins St., turn right onto Serra da Mira Road, Falagueira Road, turn right onto General Humberto Delgado Av., turn left onto Pedro Álvares Cabral Av., follow to António Feijó St., Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira Av., follow Dom Duarte St., turn left onto Estrada Velha de Queluz (Queluz Old Road), Gonçalves Ramos St., turn left onto Luís de Camões St., turn left onto Elias Garcia St., turn right onto António Feijó St., Pedro Álvares Cabral Av., turn right onto General Humberto Delgado Av., turn left onto the roundabout of Parque Aventura (going backwards), Cmdt. Children's Race

Start and finish at Praça São Silvestre (close to Amadora Este subway station):

• - Bambis (born between 2012 and 2013) - approx. 300 meters *
  • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, then return to Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.
• - Benjamins A (born between 2009 and 2011) - approx. 500 meters
  • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, take the roundabout towards the Estrada dos Salgados (direction Estrada da Brandoa), return on the Estrada dos Salgados (approximately 150m), at the roundabout turn right in the direction of Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.
• - Benjamins B (born between 2007 and 2008) - approx. 700 meters
  • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, take the roundabout towards the Estrada dos Salgados (direction Estrada da Brandoa), return on the Estrada dos Salgados (approximately 250m), at the roundabout turn right in the direction of Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.
• - Infantis (born between 2005 and 2006) - approx. 1.000 meters
  • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, take the roundabout towards the Estrada dos Salgados (direction Estrada da Brandoa), return on the Estrada dos Salgados (approximately 400m), at the roundabout turn right in the direction of Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.

* In the Bambis category the child may be accompanied by an adult.

São Silvestre da Amadora: liquid supply at 5 km; liquid and solid supply at the finish line.

In the Children's Race there will be supply at the finish line.

São Silvestre da Amadora must be completed at 2 hours after the start. At 8:00 pm the traffic will be restored.

• The prices and deadlines for São Silvestre da Amadora are:
  • Until 30th September: €10,00
  • From 1st to 31th October: €11,00
  • From 1st to 30th November: €12,00
  • From 1st to 24th December: €13,00
  • From 25h to 31st December: €14,00
  • The Children's Race has the unique price of €3,00
• In the online registrations, in www.saosilvestredaamadora.pt, the payments can be made through reference of ATM. Each reference has a maximum validity of 72 hours. After this validity, the reference will expire and the athlete must register again.
• São Silvestre da Amadora entry limits: 2.000 runners. Corrida das Crianças (Children's Race) entry limits: 300 runners.
• The organization may at any time suspend or extend deadlines or add or limit the number of entries of the event depending on needs / technical / structural availability, without notice.
• In order to run the 10K, you need to be at least 18 years old when the event takes place - regulation of the FPA - Portuguese Athletics Federation.

In the Children's Race, will be able to participate children born between 2005 and 2013:

• - Bambis (born between 2012 and 2013)
• - Benjamins A (born between 2009 and 2011)
• - Benjamins B (born between 2007 and 2008)
• - Infantis (born between 2005 and 2006)

Your entry is not transferable.

The organization may, at any time and without notice, hold/extend the deadlines or add/limit the number of entries depending on technical / structural availabilities.

The São Silvestre Amadora athlete's kit consists of a technical t-shirt (female and male model), a chip, a dorsal, pins and various offers from the partners of the event.

The Children's Athlete's kit consists of a unisex technical t-shirt, two dorsal pins, and a variety of offers from event partners.

The organization guarantees all athletes a t-shirt. The sizes available for São Silvestre da Amadora (10 km) will be: S, M and L of Woman and S, M, L and XL of Man.

The measures (height x width) of the available t-shirt sizes are:

• - S woman: 58 x 42 cm
• - M woman: 60 x 44 cm
• - L woman: 62 x 47 cm
• - S man: 69 x 47 cm
• - M man: 72 x 50 cm
• - L man: 74 x 53 cm
• - XL man: 76 x 56 cm

The sizes available for the Children's Race will be: 4/5 years, 6/8 years, 10/12 years and S.

The measures (height x width) of the available t-shirt sizes are:

• - 4/5 years old: 49 x 35 cm
• - 6/8 years old: 52 x 38,5 cm
• - 10/12 years old: 56 x 41 cm
• - S: 69 x 47 cm

The size of each t-shirt will be chosen on the respective race registration form (10K Race and Children's Race). The measurements for each size can also be found on the entry form of each run.

At the time of delivery of the participation kit, no change of t-shirts size will be accepted. If stock is available after the event, the organization will make the change.

• Can pick up the race number/packet in the following schedules:
  • Sunday, 30th December 2018: from 10:00 am at 07:00 pm, at Praça São Silvestre (near the metro station Amadora Este)
  • Monday, 31st December 2018: from 10:00 am at 07:00 pm, at Praça São Silvestre (near the metro station Amadora Este)
• Required documentation to number/packet pickup:
  • Registration confirmation (email received after payment)
  • ID (passport or driving license)
• You can also pick up someone else’s number/packet. To do so, you'll need to show:
  • A recolha do kit do atleta em nome de outro participante pode ocorrer desde que sejam apresentados os seguintes elementos:
    • Registration confirmation of the runner (email received after payment)
    • ID of the person who's picking up the pack (passport or driving license)

The organization will keep the race kits which weren't picked up for 15 days after the event.

To claim your race kit, you should get in touch with us.

Runners will have to pay the shipping costs of these race kits.

If you don't claim your race kit after the established period, it will be donated to a social institution.

The finishers’ kits will only be available for the runners that cross the finish line.

The use of your official race number is mandatory and it must be placed in the t-shirt's front, using the provided pins.

The race number is not transferable.

The organization will disqualify all runners that:

• Do not wear the assigned race number in their t-shirts
• Wear other runner's race number
• Fold or manipulate the race number in any way

All runners without their race number will not be allowed to be on the race course and will not have access to the finish line.

All registered runners in São Silvestre da Amadora must use the timing chip provided in the race kit.

The chip will be placed on the back of the dorsal and is coded for the athlete, being personal and non-transferable. The chip is disposable and will not have to be returned at the end of the race.

Chip reading will only occur if it is placed as instructed. If the chip is taken off or removed by the athlete, the athlete will not be classified.

The organization can't be held responsible by any timing failure if the chip isn't placed accordingly to the provided instructions.

The organization will disqualify all runners who:

• use more than one timing chip
• uses another's runner timing chip
• use a timing chip from a female runner and it's a male; and the other way around

All runners who finish the São Silvestre da Amadora race and Corrida das Crianças (Children's Race) will get, after the finish line, a medal and several offers from our sponsors.

An electronic participation diploma for all athletes will be available to download on the event's website.

The first three qualified men and women will be awarded trophies for the São Silvestre da Amadora finish line (only the general classification will be taken into account).

The first 25 male and female classified, taking into account the overall standings, will receive cash prizes:

Everyone can be part of this race, regardless of their nationality or sex, as long as they are registered and have accepted our terms and policy.

For the everyone's safety, it is not allowed to take part of the race with bicycles, accompanied by animals, skateboards and wheelchairs. The organization does not advise the participation of people with baby strolls.

It is mandatory that runners are at least 18 years old by the time the event takes place - regulation of the FPA - Portuguese Athletics Federation.

* For runners who were born until 1984, the age group is determined by the year they were born. For runners who were born after, the age group is determined by the exact age they have at the time the event takes place.

On race day, runners must carry an ID (any official document that proves your age. i.e. passport) in case it's needed to check their age.

Children's Race:

• - Bambis (born between 2012 and 2013)
• - Benjamins A (born between 2009 and 2011)
• - Benjamins B (born between 2007 and 2008)
• - Infantis (born between 2005 and 2006)

All registered athletes in São Silvestre da Amadora must be aligned at the start, as a mandatory condition, until 6:00 pm, except for the Women's Elite athletes, who must be in the start at 5:45 pm.

The chip and dorsal should be placed according to the points 10 and 11 of this Regulation.

The final classification will be sorted according to the chip time.

All registered athletes in the Children's Race must be in the starting area at 4:30 pm.

The organization guarantees all registered runners in the São Silvestre da Amadora, who collect their race kits, a timing system using a chip.

The chip will be placed on the back of the dorsal and is coded for the athlete, being personal and non-transferable.

The chip can not be detached or removed. If the chip is taken off or removed by the athlete, the athlete will not be classified. The chip is disposable and will not have to be returned at the end of the race.

The reading of the chip will only occur if the dorsal is placed correctly.

The organization is committed to choose the best course, so runners’ safety is guaranteed. However, it is not responsible for the pavement condition or obstacles that may appear during the course.

The course is approved by the official public entities.

The organization will disqualify runners who:

• provide any untrue info in the registration form
• don't have his/hers race number and chip properly placed
• show poor physical shape
• use other runner's race number or timing chip
• fold or manipulate the race number in any way
• use more than one timing chip
• fold or manipulate the race number in any way
• disregard the signs placed by the organization and / or jump barriers to get to start line
• do not complete the whole official course
• disregard instructions given by the organization
• show any kind of unsporting behaviour (i.e.: intentionally pushing other athletes)
• disregard other runners

HMS Sports won't accept runners who have an unsporting behaviour in its future races.

The police will be responsible for managing the traffic in the official course. The course will reopen to cars 2 hours after the start.

The organization will provide medical support at the start/finish line and during the course. If there is need for extra medical care, runners will be redirected to the National Health Service.

The medical staff will have the authority to remove from the race any runner that is not fit to run.

Complaints must be made in accordance with the rules of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA), adding a €50,00 fee to the complaint file. This amount will be deposited until the complaint is solved. The amount will be refunded if the complaint is justified.

Any complaint must be filed in writing using an official paper provided by the organization and until the end of the event.

When registering, all participants accept this Regulation and, in case of doubt or a situation not covered by it, inform the organization.

Upon registration, all participants agree to accept this Regulation. For the clarification of any doubt, or for any question not foreseen in this Regulation, the participants should contact the organization through the email: geral@hmssports.pt

21.1. Disclaimer

São Silvestre da Amadora - Individual

By registering, all runners comply with the following waiver:

• a) I have read and agree to the General Terms and Rules of Participation of São Silvestre da Amadora, available on the official website www.saosilvestredaamadora.pt
• b) I am aware of my health condition and I am physically and psychologically able to take part in this event.
• c) I am committed to abstaining from participating in São Silvestre da Amadora, if my health conditions change after enrollment.
• d) I have read and I am aware of the insurance policy of this event.
• e) By taking part in São Silvestre da Amadora, I unconditionally authorize that Amadora City Hall, Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting and its partners use my image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding my participation in the event belongs to Amadora City Hall, Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organization for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
• f) I take part in São Silvestre da Amadora willingly, exempting Amadora City Hall, Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and others related to the organization of any liabilities that may come out of my participation in this event (i.e. loss of personal objects by theft or other circumstances).

São Silvestre da Amadora - Teams

The person in charge for registering team members assumes that they all accept this regulation and, in case of doubt or a situation that is not included therein, they must inform the organization.

They further declare that they accept the following term of responsibility, which states that:

• a) We have read and agree to the General Terms and Rules of Participation of São Silvestre da Amadora available on the official website www.saosilvestredaamadora.pt
• b) We are aware of our health condition and we are physically and psychologically able to take part in this event.
• c) We are committed to abstaining from participating in São Silvestre da Amadora, if our health conditions change after enrollment.
• d) We have read and we are aware of the insurance policy of this event.
• e) By taking part in São Silvestre da Amadora, we unconditionally authorize that Amadora City Hall, Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting and its partners use our image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding our participation in the event belongs to Amadora City Hall, Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organization for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
• f) We take part in São Silvestre da Amadora willingly, exempting Amadora City Hall, Deportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and others related to the organization of any liabilities that may come out of our participation in this event (i.e. loss of personal objects by theft or other circumstances.

Children's Race

With the child registration, the parents, legal guardians and/or guardians accept this regulation and, in case of doubt or a situation that is not included therein, they must inform the organization.

The legal person responsible for the child also declares that he/she accepts the following term of responsibility, which states that:

• a) I have read and agree to the regulations of São Silvestre da Amadora, available on the website www.saosilvestredaamadora.pt
• b) I am aware of the state of health of the minor under my responsability and of his physical and psychological capacity to participate.
• c) I am committed to not allow the child to take part in the Children's Race if their health conditions change after enrollment.
• d) I am aware of the content of the insurance policy in force and have read it specifications, contained in the run regulations.
• e) By participating in São Silvestre da Amadora, I freely and unconditionally authorize the Câmara Municipal da Amadora (Amadora City Council), Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting and the partners of the event to use the image of the child under my responsability. By this mean, I give all rights to use the images, such as captured in photographs and filming that will take place during the running, waiving from any amount that will be earned in communication pieces.
• f) The minor under my responsability participates in São Silvestre da Amadora of its own free will, exempting the Câmara Municipal da Amadora (Amadora City Council), Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and other companies related to the organization of the event of any responsibility resulting from the participation of my pupil in São Silvestre da Amadora, before, during and after it (for example, loss of personal belongings due to theft or other circumstances).

21.2. Data processing

The personal data will be processed automatically according to the terms approved by the European General Data Protection Regulation, by the organization of the event, the entity responsible for the data, and exclusively for the provision of the services necessary for participation in the event in which the athlete subscribes.

The processing of data for the communication about the event in which it is registered is optional and is subject to specific consent and expressed in the event registration form, always in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC of April 27th, 2016.

Participants are guaranteed, under the terms of the same law, access to their data, and may request from the organization its updating, correction or elimination.

The personal data collected regarding this event will be stored for a period of two years and are accessible free of charge for consultation, rectification or deletion by email: geral@hmssports.pt

Runners must be aware of their health conditions in order to guarantee their wellbeing during the race, exempting the organization, its partners, supporters and others involved in the event from any liability.

The organization ensures a personal insurance, as referred in CR/7/2013 (AAL Sports Insurance - Season 2013/2014) with a reimbursement value of 27.087€ in case of death or disability; treatment expenses up to 4.335€; and up to 2.167€ in case of funeral expenses.

The organization is not responsible for any situations that are not covered by this insurance policy.

By participating in São Silvestre da Amadora, I freely and unconditionally authorize the Câmara Municipal da Amadora (Amadora City Council), Desportivo Operário Rangel, HMS Sports Consulting and the partners of the event to use the image of the child under my responsability. By this mean, I give all rights to use the images, such as captured in photographs and filming that will take place during the running, waiving from any amount that will be earned in communication pieces.

Câmara Municipal da Amadora, Desportivo Operário Rangel and HMS Sports Consulting reserves the right to use the database with runner's personal data, collected through the registration form for promotional activities.

Runners are able to refuse the use of their personal data in registration form by choosing the option "Deny authorization".

The registration fee is not reimbursed.

However, until December 1st, 2018, the runner may request to assign his/her race number to somebody else, as long as this request is sent in writing to the organization – info@saosilvestredaamadora.pt. If the runner doesn't inform the organization about the substitution, that runner will not be able to use the race insurance.

The organization reserves the right to change the scheduled programme or to cancel the event due to natural disasters, for safety considerations or if required to do so by official orders. In such cases, the promoter shall not be liable to compensate participants for any losses incurred.

In these cases, the organization reserves the right to answer before all runners within 30 days.
