Course
Entertainment
On December 31, 2026, there will be a lot of entertainment on the 10K course. All activations will be announced in due course.
Starting
Sections
São Silvestre Amadora will have starts by waves, with restricted access and according to the athletes' performance in a 10 km race in the last two years. Please verify in which starting wave you're placed in and what you should do:
- Elite B: time less than or equal to 37:30 minutes
- Sub 45: time less than or equal to 45:00
- Sub 50: time less than or equal to 50:00
- Sub 60: time less than or equal to 60:00
- +60 minutes
How to get access to the Starting Waves?
If you have not participate in any HMS Sports events in the last two years, the +60 Minutes starting wave will be automatically assigned.
Elite B, Sub45 minutes, Sub50 minutes and Sub60 minutes starting waves are not free to choose on the registration form. They have restricted access and will require evaluation from the organisation.
To take advantage of the various waves, it is mandatory to submit a time stamp that meets the time requirement of each starting wave from a 10K race in the last two years.
The time stamp must be sent to suporte@hmssports.pt, indicating the athlete's bib number and name, until December 13, 2026.
The organisation will not accept time proofs after this time. All athletes who apply after December 13, 2026 will have a deadline of three days, upon registration, to submit proof of time to change the starting wave.
Starting
Waves
So that all participants can enjoy the most of São Silvestre Amadora, the organisation will divide the race into several starting waves. The start will be given by waves and their size will depend on the number of entries per block. Athletes will not start all at the same time, but by starting waves.
| 1st wave | 2nd wave | 3rd wave |
|---|---|---|
| Elite B/ Sub 45 / Sub 50 | Sub 60 | +60 |
All athletes must be lined up at the start, without fail, by 6:00 PM at the respective location, according to their starting block. The block gates will be closed at 6:00 PM and all athletes who have not entered their block by that time must do so through the +60 block entrance.
The chip time will only be activated when the athlete crosses the start line, therefore, starting in different waves does not imply a penalty on the race time.
The final ranking will be ordered according to the official time, but we will provide the ranking by chip time.
Checkroom
On the day of the event, the organisation makes available a checkroom at Praça São Silvestre.
Just show your race bib to enjoy this service, between 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
Traffic Conditioning
On December 31, 2026, due to the São Silvestre Amadora, traffic will be restricted in the city of Amadora. Full details of all traffic restrictions will be announced in due course.
